Specific Responsibilities: Perform engineering design evaluations and concept development across global vehicle programs Utilize engineering tools and collaborate with VDDV groups including Safety Performance to successfully develop the best system solution Package components such as steering wheels, airbags and collaborate with other systems within the vehicle (Interior IP/Trim/Overhead/Seats, Electrical, Body, etc.) Work multi-functionally to support initial vehicle configuration work, realize cost optimization, deliver requirements, and implement product and process improvements Balance business imperatives, including but not limited to cost, mass, complexity, and timing Communicate information to and from internal and external customer organizations (eg Design, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Quality, Validation, suppliers) and lead the product development team (PDT) Stay abreast of relevant new technology and products Evaluate supplier proposals and designs Ensure specifications at the vehicle, system and component level and regulations for all regions of sale are met with balanced solutions Summarizes complex issues into a format that is easily understood by leadership Effectively facilitate meetings and publish necessary documentation Willingness to travel as required Flexible hours to enable global review meetings.
